Our Charolais herd originated in 2001, when Wade and a business partner purchased a handful of cows from the HooDoo Ranch in Cody, Wyo. Wade and Cara were married in 2007 and have shared in this endeavor since that day. Starting from the ground up, we've slowly built our stock, propagation HooDoo genetics through embryo transfer and use of HooDoo bred sires. Building upon this solid base, we genetically select for structural soundness, growth and carcass quality.
In 2010, with an opportunity to purchase property and expand in Mountain City, Nev., we relocated our herd.
Today, our cattle are summered on the ranch in Mountain City, and wintered in south western Idaho. They are developed on steep and rocky, mountainous summer pastures at an elevation of 6,000 feet, and adapted to extreme winter and summer climates.
Our goal is (not only) to produce sound, hardy and quality seed stock, but to produce genetics that add value (in added weight and carcass quality) for our customers and for value to our industry.
